Ecclesial Departure

Scripture presents the local church as the functional body of Christ — a covenantal assembly for:

- Worship

- Apostolic teaching

- Fellowship

- Mutual accountability

- Mission

Acts 2:42–47 · Hebrews 10:24–25

It is described as “The pillar and foundation of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15). However, the New Testament simultaneously warns believers against remaining within doctrinally compromised assemblies that may foster theological deception, ethical compromise, and spiritual harm (2 Corinthians 6:14–18, Revelation 18:4). Departure from a fellowship is therefore not consumer-preference driven, but may become necessary where fidelity to Christ conflicts with institutional loyalty.
